Agent Gateway

Tray.ai's governance layer for MCP — deploy managed MCP Servers, expose connectors as governed agent tools, and audit every agent action.

What Agent Gateway does

Agent Gateway is the control plane for enterprise MCP. It lets teams:

  • Deploy managed MCP Servers — spin up, version, publish, and deprecate MCP endpoints on a governed path instead of shadow deployments.
  • Expose 700+ connectors as MCP Tools — every Tray.ai connector becomes an agent tool with appropriate auth and scope. Compose multiple connectors into one tool call.
  • Control access — per-workspace isolation, per-user scopes, policies around which agents can use which tools against which data.
  • Audit everything — every MCP tool call traced to a user, agent, purpose, and outcome. Token costs, latencies, errors all observable.
  • Authenticate flexibly — OAuth, API keys, JWT, signed requests, centrally rotated.

Why it exists

MCP adoption is moving faster than MCP governance. Research across 2025-2026 consistently shows double-digit percentages of unmanaged MCP servers carrying critical vulnerabilities. Gartner projects 40% of enterprise MCP deployments will be affected by security incidents by 2027 without governance.

Agent Gateway is the pattern for adopting MCP safely: keep the velocity MCP enables, add the governance enterprises require.

How it fits Tray.ai

Agent Gateway is a pillar of the Tray.ai platform, alongside Merlin Agent Builder, Intelligent iPaaS, Data Engineering, and Governance & Trust.

See the global insurer case study for the flagship example — department-level MCP servers consolidated into a single governed control plane, with zero raw system access remaining.
