Solutions / Use case

Onboarding in minutes, not days.

New hires need accounts across twelve systems before day one. Tray.ai runs the handoffs — ADP to Okta to Slack — automatically.

onboarding time at a fintech that scaled 800 → 3,000 in 18 months
10 days → 4–5 min
HR time recovered at a leading social network on Greenhouse → BambooHR alone
~10 hrs/month
contractors onboarded in Peddle's first 90 days on Tray
106
peak hire throughput handled without bottleneck
100/week

The work that scales with headcount, until it doesn’t.

Onboarding used to mean ten days of manual data entry across eight systems — every step a chance for a typo, every typo a Day-1 ticket. Tray.ai runs that in minutes: ADP becomes the source of truth, every downstream system listens. Same workflow in reverse on offboarding — access disappears the day they leave.

What employee-lifecycle automation looks like in production

HR system as source of truth, propagated everywhere

A new hire in ADP, BambooHR, or Workday flows into Okta, Slack, payroll, and equipment automatically. Same in reverse for offboarding.

Every app provisioned, not just the ones with SCIM

Apps without SCIM still get provisioned — Tray connects directly via each app's API.

One workflow per scenario, not one per person

Hire, rehire, transfer, retire — every HR scenario runs the same way every time, with audit trails.

Self-service for the requests HR shouldn't be answering

An HR Agent in Slack handles PTO, policy, and travel questions — check, submit, escalate, all without HR.

10 days → 4–5 min time to fully onboard a new hire

“With Tray, we can onboard new employees in minutes and be confident that they have the right access to the right tools to do their job right out of the gate.”

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use SCIM? +

SCIM works where vendors support it well. Plenty don't — and the apps employees actually use day-to-day include the ones that don't. Tray fills the gap by provisioning directly through each app's API, so coverage isn't capped at whatever subset of your stack supports SCIM cleanly.

How is this different from an HRIS workflow? +

HRIS workflows are great inside the HRIS. The pain is everywhere else — IT provisioning, equipment ordering, payroll, expense, the long tail of SaaS apps. Tray treats the HRIS (ADP, BambooHR, Workday) as the source of truth and propagates the change to every system that needs it.

Can the agent handle PTO and policy questions instead of HR? +

Yes. The HR Agent built on Merlin Agent Builder runs in Slack, checks travel and time-off policy, and submits or escalates requests. HR sees the exception queue, not the routine queue.

How long does this take to ship? +

Fast. The fintech leader cited above replaced ten-day manual onboarding with a four-to-five-minute automated flow. Most teams are running their first scenario (hire-to-IT) within the first sprint.
