A prospect fills in a demo form at 4:55 on a Friday. The lead has to be matched to an account, checked against territory and ownership rules, and put in front of a rep before the weekend, or it goes cold. Lead routing software makes that decision in seconds. The eight tools below make it in different places: on your website, inside Salesforce, in your CRM’s own rules, or across every system the lead touches.
The short answer. Chili Piper, Default and RevenueHero route a lead and book the meeting straight from the form. LeanData, Distribution Engine and Traction Complete route and match leads inside Salesforce. HubSpot has rotation built into its workflows, which covers simple rules. Tray.ai builds routing as workflows across the CRM, enrichment, marketing and chat tools, for rules that span systems.
We make Tray.ai, so read our entry with that in mind. Every claim about another product comes from that vendor’s own pages, read on October 26, 2026, and each one gets a “best for” we would stand behind.

Orchestration across systems
Tray.ai
Best for: routing rules that depend on data in several systems.
Tray builds routing as workflows that read and write across the CRM, enrichment providers, the marketing platform and chat. A rule can check territory, account ownership and open opportunities before it assigns a lead, then alert the rep in Slack. DocuSign went from 90% of leads reaching sales within 10 minutes to 99% within 3 minutes. We’ve written about each step that breaks, from enrichment and lead-to-account matching to routing rules that outlive the org chart and speed to lead. The whole sequence is in lead lifecycle management, and the process is on the lead routing page.
Trade-offs: Tray has no ready-made routing screen or meeting scheduler, so routing is a set of workflows your team builds and owns. For simple round robin, that’s more setup than a dedicated router. Pricing starts at $50 a month and is based on usage, with no per-user fees.
Routing and scheduling
Chili Piper
Best for: inbound teams that want form fills to become booked meetings without a rep stepping in.
Chili Piper routes inbound leads from your web form to a rep’s calendar and books the meeting. Its Routing and Scheduling plan includes re-engagement automations and AI credits for enrichment and agents.
Trade-offs: Routing and Scheduling starts at $1,250 a month with up to 15 seats, then $45 a seat a month. It’s priced on seats, so cost grows with your sales team.
Default
Best for: teams that want enrichment, routing and scheduling in one platform.
Default combines workflows, enrichment, lead routing and meeting scheduling. It has an MCP server, so agents can trigger workflows and pull audit logs, and it positions itself as a replacement for separate routing, enrichment and scheduling tools.
Trade-offs: Growth is $12,000 a year with 24,000 enrichment credits. Routing and Scheduling seats are $540 a user a year, and Enterprise is $25,000 a year. The platform price makes most sense if you’ll use more than routing.
RevenueHero
Best for: smaller inbound teams that want routing and booking at a low published price.
RevenueHero routes inbound leads to their owner or by round robin, books the meeting from the form, and logs every routing decision. It writes meetings back to the CRM and credits back no-shows.
Trade-offs: Essentials has a platform fee of $79 a month billed yearly, or $99 monthly, plus $25 or $35 a seat, and admin seats are free. Essentials covers round robin and account-domain routing, so check that your more complex rules are covered.
Salesforce routing and matching
LeanData
Best for: Salesforce teams with complex lead-to-account matching and routing.
LeanData calls itself a GTM orchestration platform. The Standard edition covers lead-to-account matching, routing by round robin, territory and account, deduplication and enrichment, and audit logs. Advanced extends routing to contacts and accounts and triggers workflows on buyer signals.
Trade-offs: LeanData doesn’t publish prices. Features come in edition tiers, so the objects you need to match and route decide which edition you’re buying.
Distribution Engine
Best for: Salesforce teams that route on rep availability, workload and skills.
Distribution Engine routes and matches leads in Salesforce by round robin, territory, availability, workload, skills or account ownership. It can also hand qualified leads straight to a booked meeting.
Trade-offs: Starter is $20 a user a month, Advanced $35 and Unlimited $55, with a 30-day free trial. It’s built for Salesforce.
Traction Complete
Best for: Salesforce teams that also need account hierarchies and deduplication.
Traction Complete describes itself as an agentic data management suite for Salesforce. Its lead product handles routing and lead-to-account matching, and other products in the suite cover hierarchies, deduplication and territory reassignment.
Trade-offs: Traction Complete doesn’t publish prices. It’s built for Salesforce.
Built into the CRM
HubSpot
Best for: HubSpot teams with simple rules, before they need a dedicated tool.
HubSpot’s Rotate record to owner workflow action spreads records evenly across users. It needs Sales Hub or Service Hub on a Professional or Enterprise plan, and the users it assigns to need paid seats on those plans.
Trade-offs: It’s included with those plans. Rules get harder to maintain as territories, accounts and exceptions multiply, and HubSpot notes that rotation may not work as expected when the owner field syncs to Salesforce.
