The first contract is usually sized like this. Someone lists the integrations planned for the coming year, adds a margin for growth, picks the tier that covers it, and signs.
Workato runs those integrations at volume, and your team knows the platform.
What has changed is the number of things the person signing the next contract answers for. Two of them were not on the original list, because the products they involve did not exist when it was written.
Question 1: Has this account been rescoped, or is the renewal built off the original sizing?
The tier you are on was chosen against a forecast. You have since run a full term, so you know which workloads the business depends on, which ones were built for a project that ended, and where the volume actually went.
Ask when the account was last rescoped and what the renewal figure is sized against. If the answer is the original estimate, the information you gathered over the term has not reached the contract. Answers like that take weeks to assemble, which is one reason the renewal review starts earlier than most teams plan for.
Question 2: Is agentic capability inside your current edition or above it, and what is metered?
Workato has a real agentic offering and your account team will tell you so. Agent Studio, Genies and Workato ONE all exist, and AIRO has been globally available since July 2026, described in Workato’s own announcement as a multi-agent system built into the Workato platform.2
Two lines in Workato’s documentation set up the rest of the question. Workato ONE is described as their most comprehensive offering, one that includes all Enterprise edition features and agentic capabilities.3 Their metering documentation states that one input prompt equals one Genie action, and that the prompt “can be sent by a user or system, such as another genie or App event.”4
So ask which edition your agent work sits on today, and what a multi-agent conversation costs when every prompt inside it is billable.
Question 3: Where does a finished vibe-coded app run, and whose name is on it?
Your builders are already writing applications in Claude Code and Cursor. AIRO takes that work and builds Workato assets from it, including recipes, Genies and MCP servers.5
The application itself is a separate question. As of documentation research on August 19, 2026, no Workato edition takes an arbitrary application a team built with an AI assistant and runs it on a managed runtime with SSO in front, managed auth behind it, an audit trail and a named owner. Workflow Apps is a no-code builder for forms, tables and approvals on a hosted portal, with SAML configured at portal level rather than per app, and no per-app cost attribution.6
So the application lands on a laptop, or on infrastructure somebody in IT is asked to own. Ask your engineering leads whether they are being asked to host other people’s applications, and what they have been saying.

What to do with the answers
Get all three in writing before anyone quotes a figure.
Running the platform for a term told you which workloads you actually need. You can price the next term against that instead of against the estimate you made before you had it. If one of the three answers leaves a gap, that is the point to look at alternatives to Workato, rather than the week the contract expires.
