The 9 best data integration tools in 2026

Nine data integration tools compared: warehouse loaders, enterprise data platforms, cloud services and integration platforms, with pricing and fit.

Ask two teams what a data integration tool does and you’ll get two answers. The data team means copying data from apps and databases into a warehouse for reporting. The operations team means moving data between the apps themselves, so an order in one system becomes an invoice in another. Most lists mix the two. This one keeps them apart.

The short answer. Fivetran and Airbyte load data into a warehouse. Informatica and Qlik Talend run large data management programs, with quality and governance built in. AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory are the native options inside their own clouds. Tray.ai, Boomi and MuleSoft integrate applications and APIs, moving data between systems as well as into the warehouse.

We make Tray.ai, so read our entry with that in mind. Every claim about another product comes from that vendor’s own pages, read on October 26, 2026, and each one gets a “best for” we would stand behind.

Application and API integration

Tray.ai

Best for: moving data between business applications and acting on it in the same workflow.

Tray connects business apps, APIs, databases and the warehouse, so one workflow can load a warehouse table, update the CRM and alert a team. Builders work on a visual canvas or in code. Yext migrated more than 100 services to Tray in three months and builds integrations three times faster than it did on MuleSoft. We’ve written about where pipelines break in the data integration process, including change data capture, loading Salesforce into Snowflake and reverse ETL. The whole process is on the data integration page.

Trade-offs: If the only job is copying many SaaS sources into a warehouse on a schedule, a dedicated loader such as Fivetran or Airbyte is built for that one job and prices for it. Tray runs as a managed cloud service, with regional hosting and on-premise connectivity on Enterprise. Pricing starts at $50 a month and is based on usage, with no per-user or per-connection fees.

Boomi

Best for: teams that want an established integration platform with a published entry price.

Boomi says more than 30,000 customers use its Enterprise Platform, which spans integration, API management and data management, and it has added orchestration for agentic workflows. Low-code development and data mapping tools are part of its core integration features.

Trade-offs: Pay-As-You-Go is $99 a month plus usage, billed monthly, with a 30-day free trial. Larger editions are priced with sales. How Tray and Boomi differ covers the detail.

MuleSoft

Best for: enterprises that run integrations and API management on one platform.

MuleSoft combines integration with API management, and its Agent Fabric adds a registry and governance for agents and MCP servers. Pricing uses one shared credit across integrations, APIs, automation and agents, and the rate falls as usage grows.

Trade-offs: Packages start at $2,000 a month, billed annually, and the Pre-Commit option has a $50,000 minimum annual commitment. How Tray and MuleSoft differ covers the detail.

Warehouse loading (ELT)

Fivetran

Best for: analytics teams loading many sources into a warehouse without maintaining connectors.

Fivetran replicates data from SaaS apps, databases, SAP, files and streams into warehouses and data lakes. It adds transformations, and activations that send warehouse data back to business tools. A hybrid deployment option keeps data processing in your own environment.

Trade-offs: The Free plan covers up to 500,000 monthly active rows. Beyond that, you pay for the rows that change each month, so a busy source costs more: Fivetran’s own example puts a median Marketo connection at about $425 a month.

Airbyte

Best for: teams that want open source or need to run pipelines in their own environment.

Airbyte Core is free to self-host, and the managed plans add hosting, upgrades and support. Airbyte lists more than 700 connectors and can deploy in your warehouse, your VPC or on-premises.

Trade-offs: Standard starts at $20 a month with five credits, about 1 GB of syncs, and Plus starts at $189 a month for SSO and 15-minute syncs. Self-hosting costs nothing in license fees, but running and upgrading it is your team’s work.

Enterprise data management

Informatica

Best for: large data programs that need integration, quality, catalog and governance together.

Informatica, which now calls itself Informatica from Salesforce, runs an Intelligent Data Management Cloud. It puts data integration, data quality and a data catalog on one platform.

Trade-offs: Pricing is consumption-based and quoted on request. It’s a broad platform built for large, governed data programs, which is more than most teams need for a handful of pipelines. How Tray and Informatica differ covers the detail.

Qlik Talend Cloud

Best for: real-time replication with change data capture, including SAP and mainframe sources.

Qlik Talend Cloud comes in four plans. Standard adds real-time synchronization using log-based change data capture, Premium adds ELT and ETL transformations, and Enterprise adds SAP and mainframe connectivity with fuller data quality and governance.

Trade-offs: Every plan is priced on request, though there’s a free trial. Capabilities are gated by plan, so check which tier has the features you need before you ask for a price.

Cloud-native services

AWS Glue

Best for: data engineering teams already on AWS.

AWS Glue is a serverless data integration service. Its ETL jobs typically run on Apache Spark, and the Glue Data Catalog holds metadata for data across your AWS account.

Trade-offs: You pay for compute at $0.44 per DPU-hour, so a 15-minute job on six DPUs costs $0.66 in AWS’s own example. It’s built around AWS, and Spark jobs need engineers to write and tune them.

Azure Data Factory

Best for: teams already on Azure, including hybrid setups with data that stays on-premise.

Azure Data Factory orchestrates data pipelines. Its copy activity moves data between stores, and a self-hosted integration runtime reaches data that stays on-premise.

Trade-offs: You pay per 1,000 activity runs plus integration runtime hours, and Microsoft shows current rates through its pricing calculator rather than a fixed list. It’s designed around Azure.

How to choose

The data’s destination is a warehouse, for analytics. Look at Fivetran or Airbyte, or AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory if you’re committed to one cloud.

The data needs to move between apps, and the work doesn’t end at the warehouse. Look at Tray.ai, Boomi or MuleSoft.

Data quality and governance are part of the brief. Look at Informatica or Qlik Talend.

You need open source or self-hosting. Look at Airbyte Core.

You need change data capture from databases. Qlik Talend offers it from Standard upward, and Tray covers it too. See why CDC pipelines fall behind.

You need a price before a call. Fivetran, Airbyte, AWS Glue, Boomi, MuleSoft and Tray publish one.

Frequently asked questions

What is a data integration tool?

+

A data integration tool moves data between systems and reshapes it on the way. Some load data into a warehouse for analysis. Others move it between business applications so processes can run on it.

What's the difference between ETL and ELT?

+

ETL transforms data before it's loaded. ELT loads raw data first and transforms it inside the warehouse, which is how most modern warehouse loaders work. Our post on reverse ETL vs ETL covers the third direction, from the warehouse back to apps.

Is an iPaaS a data integration tool?

+

Yes, for data that moves between applications and APIs. An iPaaS such as Tray, Boomi or MuleSoft runs integrations between systems, and it can load a warehouse too. For bulk warehouse loading alone, a dedicated ELT tool is usually the better fit.

Which data integration tools are open source?

+

Airbyte Core is free to self-host. The other tools on this list are commercial services.

Which data integration tools publish pricing?

+

Fivetran, Airbyte, AWS Glue, Boomi and MuleSoft publish prices, and Tray publishes a starting price of $50 a month. Azure Data Factory publishes rates through its calculator. Informatica and Qlik Talend quote on request.
